Welcome to our cozy chalet! We’re Steve and Annie, and along with our three grown children and our slightly crazy cocker spaniel, Inca, we’ve turned this 200 year old goat shepherd's hut into our second home.
Whether it’s hitting the slopes in winter, exploring hiking trails in summer, or enjoying the beautiful Lac de Montriond, this area has always meant a lot to us.

We had a fantastic time staying in this beautiful chalet before Christmas. It is rustic, cozy and situated in a peaceful spot by the lake and woods. Perfect for a fireside relaxation, with a glass of wine, after exploring the incredible Alps. A short drive to the Ardent cable car takes you into the heart of the Portes Du Soleil, which is very convenient. We had the best time here and can’t wait to stay again!

It was amazing!
What makes Chalet Truman truly special, though, is its proximity to the idyllic Lac de Montriond. The beautiful lake path is as suited to a morning run as it is an evening stroll, and in the summer the lake itself is a popular site for wild-swimming, paddle-boarding and kayaking.

Chalet Truman was the most incredible experience, its location is absolutely stunning with amazing scenery along with the beautiful Lac de Montriond just a stone's throw from the chalet. The location was also very convenient as a short drive will get you to the bottom of the Ardent gondola which connects to the whole of the Portes du Soleil area. This also made it very easy to ski back to the chalet after coming off the slopes from the Ardent gondola. Overall, the chalet was excellent and really provided a warm, welcoming feel.

Chalet Truman was truly an unbelievable experience. The house was so close to the lake and gondola but also far enough to feel completely tucked away. The house is cosy and quirky with all its antique items but also modern and comfortable. Overall this is the perfect chalet for an amazing holiday and to make many memories.

We stayed here in February 2026 and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing alpine escape. The location is incredibly tranquil, surrounded by stunning scenery, and just a few minutes’ walk from the beautiful lake.
The chalet itself felt like a true home from home. It’s charmingly rustic, warm, and cosy, with a homely atmosphere that made it easy to settle in straight away. You can really feel the care and character in every detail. The bedrooms are spacious, warm, and comfortable and the chalet had everything you need for a self-catering break.
For skiing, the Ardent gondola is just a short drive away and gives quick access to the vibrant Lindarets bowl and the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area. We chose to drive and park at the gondola station — worth arriving early to secure a good spot. On the way back, we made use of the ski bus, which worked well, with just a 10-minute walk from the stop at the end of the road.
We absolutely loved our stay at Steve and Annie’s home. It’s a special place that offers both peaceful retreat and easy access to wonderful skiing. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy, authentic alpine getaway, in winter or summer.

Beautiful warm cosy home at the foot of the Portes du Soleil. Well equipped and homely chalet, perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Only five minutes drive from the Ardent gondola and a very scenic short stroll to fabulous restaurants and bars on the shores of Lac de Montriond. Spectacular setting in a traditional alpine hamlet - you’d be forgiven for thinking you’re on a film set!

We visited twice in 25/26 ski season. What a find!
Located in a small hamlet that feels like it could be miles from anywhere. It’s less than a five minute drive from the gondola and an easy walk to some really nice restaurants and bars. Not to mention a very short walk to the lake, aligned perfectly for picturesque sundowners. Town is a short drive away, so supermarkets and shops are no problem.
There are plenty of mod-cons for comfort and all the traditional chalet charm you’d expect. The “piste” down to the house is a scenic treat at the end of day, and can be walked both ways - take your poles if it’s icy though! My personal record up hill to Ardent is an 18 minute yomp, but if you take your time and look about you’re rewarded with beautiful views of the valley, woods, and waterfall.
Will be going back as often as I can!
